How long has Southern Homes been in business?
Southern Homes is a family-owned business that opened its doors in 1990, building single-family homes for families in Louisiana and Alabama.

I already own a lot. Can you build one of the homes on my lot?
Yes we do.

I would like to buy a homesite in one of the neighborhoods but build my own home on it. Is that permitted?
We will only build our home designs in our neighborhoods because we have perfected the building process of our designs, which ensures you that your home will be built in a timely manner at an affordable price using our high quality standards.

Does the base price include the lot?
Yes, the base price is for the home and home site.

Do you sell the blueprints to your home designs?
We are unable to sell our home designs. However, we would be happy to build one for you in any of our convenient neighborhoods.

Is every design offered in every neighborhood?
Some designs may be offered in only one neighborhood or all of them, depending on square footage and base price. Please check the neighborhoods of your interest, to see which designs are offered in that neighborhood.

Can one design be more expensive in one neighborhood in relation to another?
Yes, it can be due to the cost of land and labor in that area.

Do you plan to build in any other states besides Louisiana & Alabama?
We currently do not have plans to build in any other states.
